“Shooting Unfolded”

(1) June 17, 2023: At least 20 people shot, 1 fatally, at Juneteenth celebration near Chicago.

“At least 20 people were injured, one fatally, when gunfire erupted early Sunday…” Gunfire erupted.

“The shooting unfolded about 12:30 a.m. in the parking lot of…” Shooting unfolded.

“The gunfire erupted during a large gathering to commemorate Juneteenth…” Gunfire erupted.

“Witnesses described a scene of panic with people… seeking cover from the barrage of gunfire.” Barrage of gunfire.

At this link we get “‘We were all just out, and, next thing you know shots just kept going off; everybody ran, and it was chaos,’ another witness said.” Shots just kept going off.

From another local Chicago station: “A large gathering in the parking lot ended in gunfire…” Ended in gunfire.

Since only one person was killed there are at least 19 people who were shot who are still alive to talk to reporters. Not to mention the witnesses who weren’t shot. The New York Times says there were hundreds of people present. Yet reporters write these stories as if they’re unable to get even one description of the shooter(s). Huh.

(2) At a 4th of July party: ABC News: “Reward offered in search for suspects in Baltimore block party mass shooting”

This article starts out by actually acknowledging that there were shooters: “investigators worked Monday to identify the suspects who killed two people and injured 28 others when they unleashed a barrage of gunfire early Sunday…”

But then: “Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott expressed concerns about more violence erupting…” Violence erupting.

“The mass shooting unfolded around 12:30 a.m. …” Shooting unfolded.

“police officers rushed to the scene when numerous 911 callers reported shots being fired.” Shots being fired.

“…the barrage of gunfire broke out during a block party…” Barrage of gunfire broke out.

It seems that “gunfire” is like a rain storm: sometimes it just… occurs.

Intra-Left Election Fraud: And So It Begins

Last month (October 2023) the Associated Press ran an article about two Democrats accusing each other of electoral fraud in a Connecticut primary race. Why on earth would the AP publish this story? Since the accusers are Dems it cannot be dismissed as an “extreme Republican conspiracy theory” – although the AP gamely tries anyway, as we’ll see. I’m going to bitch slap the article around a bit, but first a couple of comments:

  1. Presumably this is what Severian at Founding Questions calls an “interoffice memo” among the Left: “Hey guys, quit calling out each other’s electoral shenanigans; you’re making it harder for us to say that’s just a right-wing conspiracy theory!” (Severian uses the Russian word stoyak to denote the art and science of trying to figure out the purpose of leftist propaganda. The literal meaning of stoyak is, um, something else. Here’s a recent stoyak post from FQ.)
  2. As per Jim of Jim’s Blog, once the Left fully embraced electoral fraud as a means of taking and keeping power, they abandoned their main way of settling their internal disputes peacefully. It was inevitable that fraud would be embraced in leftist internal struggles as well. This was not only predictable; it was in fact predicted, by Jim and others. Leftism is principally a personality type, not an ideology. One feature of the personality type is “Betray anyone and anything for power.” Leftists don’t play by rules with each other any more than they do with anyone else; thus “The Revolution devours it children.”

Here are some extracts from the AP story via the Hartford Courant. (Pardon the massive blast of capital letters; I originally wrote this in a text file with limited formatting options.)

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A woman approaches a drop box in the dark with what appears to be handfuls of ballots. [“APPEARS TO BE?” WHY WOULD SOMEONE PUT SOMETHING THAT’S NOT A BALLOT IN A BALLOT BOX? WHAT PURPOSE WOULD BE SERVED?] At a different drop box, someone else is seen making multiple trips to insert ballots. At yet another, the same car stops on at least three separate occasions, with different people stepping out and heading to the box. [“OH WOW, THAT LOOKED LIKE A TRASH CAN TO US. WE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A HOOT TO DRIVE HOME AND BACK THREE TIMES TO THROW OUT SOME TRASH.”]

It’s not a trailer for the latest conspiracy movie about rigged elections. Instead, the video footage has become central to a real-world controversy over potential fraud involving ballot drop boxes, a favorite target of right-wing conspiracy theorists since former President Donald Trump’s loss in the 2020 election. [AH YES, THE OL’ “CONSPIRACY THEORISTS” THING. THIS FROM THE CROWD THAT SPENT YEARS SAYING TRUMP AND “RUSSIA” STOLE THE 2016 ELECTION, AND MOUNTED A MULTI-YEAR INVESTIGATION OF TRUMP OVER IT.]

The accusations of drop box fraud are not coming from those pushing fringe election claims or from skeptical Republicans… They are being made by Democrats — two candidates vying for mayor in Connecticut’s largest city…

[YOU KNOW WHAT THE NEXT WORDS ARE GOING TO BE, RIGHT?]

Republicans have seized on the spat, [THERE IT IS!] which is now headed to a legal showdown that could result in a new election, to say it validates their concerns that drop boxes are ripe for fraud.

[IF BIDEN NUKES SEATTLE, THE NEW YORK TIMES HEADLINE THE NEXT DAY WILL BE “REPUBLICANS SEIZE UPON BIDEN’S NUKING OF SEATLLE.”]

State Rep. Doug Dubitsky, a Republican, evoked the widely debunked movie “2000 Mules” during a legislative debate over the controversy… [TWO DEMOCRATS ACCUSE EACH OTHER OF ELECTORAL FRAUD… AND THE AP MENTIONS A REPUBLICAN BY NAME BEFORE MENTIONING EITHER OF THE DEMOCRATS.
AND THAT’S NOT ALL, FOLKS! THERE’S ANOTHER REPUBLICAN WHO HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS STORY, BUT WHOSE NAME THE “REPORTERS” WILL DRAG IN BEFORE THEY NAME THE TWO DEMS! CAN YOU GUESS WHICH REPUBLICAN THAT IS? I’LL BET YOU CAN! A FEW PARAGRAPHS LATER WE GET…]

Trump, the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, [THERE IT IS! SOMETHING SOMETHING TRRRRUUUUMMMMP!!!!! (IT’S NOT UNTIL THE 13th PARAGRAPH THAT THEY NAME THE DEMS INVOLVED.)] has been doubling down on his lies about his loss in the 2020 election…

The videos and the fact that the claims are being pushed by two Democratic candidates threaten to further inflame criticism from the right that drop boxes are vehicles for election mischief. [FACT: TWO DEMOCRATS ACCUSE EACH OTHER OF FRAUD. ANALYSIS: “REPUBLICANS ARE SPREADING FRAUD CLAIMS!”]

…The videos have trickled out in the weeks since the Sept. 12 primary in the Bridgeport mayor’s race between incumbent Joe Ganim and his challenger, John Gomes… [Gomes] filed an election challenge a week later after a video appeared to show a Ganim supporter putting several envelopes into a drop box…

Ganim, who has denied involvement, is pointing to another batch of videos posted online that appear to show Gomes’ supporters making multiple stops at other ballot drop boxes. Gomes has said he has spoken with those shown in the videos and been told they were dropping off ballots for relatives. [LOL.]

… “The one question for today, and that’s going to come up, is do you take a wrecking ball approach and ban everything for everybody else?” House Speaker Matt Ritter, a Hartford Democrat, told reporters late last month.

TO CORRECT YOU: THE ACTUAL QUESTION IS WHETHER SOME DEMOCRATS WILL LET OTHER DEMOCRATS BEAT THEM IN THE PRIMARIES BY USING FRAUD.
